Metabolic Health
Weight Management

Whether you have elevated blood glucose levels, metabolic syndrome, pre-diabetes, diabetes type 2, autoimmune disease, or chronic inflammation, a multi-tiered approach may be right for you.

At Altheda Health, our approach to metabolic health and weight management goals includes lifestyle, nutrition, and behavior modification to help find and treat the root cause of metabolic imbalances. Treatment may also include the use of GLP-1 and GIP medications, like Ozempic, Wegovy, Zepbound, and Mounjaro, which help stabilize blood sugar after eating food. Generic names for these medications include semaglutide and tirzepatide. We do not sell these medications at our clinic, but can send a prescription to the pharmacy of your choice.

GLP-1 and GIP medications are reserved for complex cases and for those who have already started on a root cause approach to their metabolic imbalance. They can complement this journey for eligible patients.

GLP-1 receptor agonists represent a powerful tool in functional medicine, with applications that go far beyond blood sugar control. From improving metabolic health and facilitating weight loss to modulating immune function and reducing inflammation, GLP-1s offer a multifaceted approach to addressing chronic disease. Through microdosing, these benefits can be tailored to individual needs, providing an opportunity for personalized, root-cause-focused care.

In the realm of autoimmune diseases and chronic inflammation, GLP-1s hold particular promise. As more research unfolds, their role in functional medicine will likely continue to expand, offering new hope for those suffering from chronic conditions driven by metabolic and immune dysfunction.

Our approach is tailored to your needs and based on current symptoms, lab results, and your personal and family health history. We have a trusted network of compounding pharmacies ready to be part of your team. In-person and telehealth appointments are available. Please schedule a free consultation to discuss treatment options. We will work together to build a custom approach to treat your specific health needs.

Nutrition

We believe in balance, not restriction. We will work together to develop a plan that works for you. Patients with food sensitivities, dietary restrictions, or dietary preferences are welcome. We want the new habits you develop to be sustainable and a natural part of your lifestyle. We typically don’t promote long-term rituals of counting calories or macros. We will help you learn to become more intuitive with your food choices.

Lifestyle

We promote joyful movement. If you don’t dread physical activity, you are more likely to do it. Consistency leads to longevity. Self-care is also an important part of the process. We will encourage you to make time to pursue activities that bring a smile to your face. Healthy living is also often improved with healthy support networks. That’s where our team of nutritionists, therapists, and counselors can help you set a pace for your health.

Medication

We believe that GLP-1 and GIP medications can be wonderful tools to help you achieve your goals. You still get to choose what, how much, and when you eat. Several patients have reported that semaglutide and tirzepatide help quiet down the “food noise” that may contribute to overeating or eating when not hungry. Food is a lot of things, not just nutrition, and we want to help you make choices that serve you.

We offer a free phone consult to anyone who wants to learn more and see if we are a good fit to work together.
